Graphics cards are incredibly expensive. Even now that the cryptocurrency GPU shortage is (mostly) over, many top-tier GPUs still cost upwards of $1,000. Even midrange cards tend to fall in the high hundreds, locking 1440p and 4K gaming off from most consumers. That’s why the savvy PC gamers know to save their big PC builds until November, when the Black Friday graphics card sales hit shelves.
I’ve served as Business Insider’s main PC gaming reporter for a while now, so I know a thing or two about how graphics cards stack up to one another. Not only that, but I was one of the poor suckers who tried buying an overpriced RTX 3080 in the middle of that crypto craze, only for it to arrive from overseas banged up and defective. I know what it’s like to lose. And that’s why I’m here to help you save money.
The deals below are some of the best Black Friday graphics card deals I’ve found. They all come from reputable manufacturers and reliable retailers, so you won’t have to worry about getting scammed. They’ll all help you play games at high settings. And they range in price and power, so they’ll fit in a variety of builds.
But remember that these deals are likely going to go fast — one of the cards I was going to feature here sold out as I was writing — so act now if you want one. And when you’re done, check out our main Black Friday deals hub for even more stuff to splurge on.
Best Black Friday graphics card deals
XFX Speedster MERC310 AMD Radeon RX 7900XT
The Radeon RX 7900XT is one of the best GPUs on the market right now, not too far behind the mythical RTX 4090. This is near the lowest price we’ve ever found one for, and it’s a great price for high-end 4K gaming.
MSI Ventus Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 (16GB, GDDR6X)
When it comes to 1440p and 4K gaming and video editing, there are few graphics cards better than the RTX 4080. This model is part of MSI’s Ventus 3x series, which means it comes with three cooling fans.
Both Nvidia and AMD cards have their strengths. AMD Radeon cards tend to offer more power per dollar spent, but Nvidia RTX cards handle features like ray-tracing better. And Nvidia RTX 40-series cards also offer a feature called deep learning super sampling (DLSS) that can use AI to artificially create frames in games you play, boosting the framerate. It’s a great perk if you intend on playing intensive, Triple-A games like Cyberpunk 2077.
Obviously if you’re buying one of these cards, you’re either building your own PC or upgrading one you already own. But if you’re interested in buying a pre-built gaming PC with one of these cards, check out our guide to the best gaming PCs for some recommendations.
